Levin Schwartz, LICSW received his MSW from Smith College and his BA from UMass. Levin serves as the Assistant Deputy Superintendent of Clinical & Reentry Services at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), also as an Internship Supervisor for Smith College, Chair of the Association for Contextual and Behavioral Science (ACBS) Forensic group and serves on the nomination committee for the Massachusetts Police Reform Bill commission. At FCSO, Levin co-developed and implemented a nationally recognized mindfulness-based forensic treatment program - utilizing treatment as a means to attain public safety. The success of Levin's work has brought national attention to FCSO; he was selected as 2021-2022 JCOIN LEAP Scholar, he received the NASW-MA “Greatest Contribution to Social Work” award (2019) and the North Quabbin Community Coalition “Bridge Builder Award” (2017). Levin employs available forums to highlight the important need for modern evidence-based treatment for the underserved, vulnerable, incarcerated population.
